Dwight Muskita, of Dutch and Moluccan heritage, has been performing
and playing percussion since 1985. He has travelled to several countries,
including France, Belgium, Corsica, Germany, the United States, Portugal,
Curacao (Dutch Antilles) and Turkey. Originally self-taught, Dwight expanded
his musical education by studying with Steve Boston, Eddy Conard, Nippy
Noya and Mario Jaurequi. He further enhanced his studies, by spending 2 weeks at the Kahnawake Mohawk reservation in Canada. Later, he came to the United States to study with world-renowned percussionist Ron Powell.
Dwight believes that a great percussionist continually learns, uses creativity and humor, and plays percussion from the heart. Along with the skills and techniques he has obtained, Dwight attempts to put all of himself in the various styles of music he plays including jazz, rock, R&B, pop, latin and fusion.
